About:

Born and bred in København but with an adult life in Canada, Marina Allemano is a literary critic and translator, holding a Ph.D. in Comparative Literature.

She has translated Suzanne Brøgger's autofiction A Fighting Pig's Too Tough to Eat and Other Prose Texts, which was awarded the ALTA Fellowship 1999; Hanne Marie Svendsen's novel Under the Sun; Dorrit Willumsen's fictional biography Bang. A Novel about the Danish Writer, longlisted for the 2018 Warwick Prize for Women in Translation. All the translations are published by Norvik Press.

She has also written monographs in Danish on the same writers: Suzanne Brøgger. En introduktion (2004); Hav-frue. Hanne Marie Svendsens forfatterskab (2010); Prinsesse Sukkergodt med barberblad. Læsninger i Dorrit Willumsens forfatterskab (2015). All published by Gyldendal.
